WPH used to be Wirral Council and they became a Independent Social Landlord with approximately 12,775 homes Wirral Partnership Homes. as the largest Registered Social Landlord (RSL) in Wirral and as a not for profit organisation registered by the Housing Corporation.
George Jones have worked for WPH & the then previously Wirral Council for over 2o years now.
George Jones, four years ago were awarded part of the current contact along with another contactor & their Direct Work Force.
As a result of a Best Value Review, which was carried out by External Auditors, it was found we gave best value & best practice and awarded the full contact in 2007 with a yearly Value of Three Million.
The works carried out by George Jones on this contact are:-
- UPVC Roof Line & Gutter replacements
- Catch up replacement door Programmes with Composite Quality doors
- Environmental Fencing Replacements
- Pre- Paint repairs
- Cyclical Internals and External Painting
- Fire Upgrade to Internal Communal areas to Class ‘O’
We have added value to the customer in many areas but here are some examples of this:-
- Through our full time Tennant Liaison Officer and by Opening a Drop in Centre for the tenants to call in and use for any queries and concerns, which is also used by WPH staff.
- We self certify the works allowing WPH to carry out a 1 in 10 inspection, due to the high quality of works being delivered.
- All of the pre- decoration surveys are carried out by our surveyors and detailed cost/ survey reports passed to WPH before commencement, which enables Guaranteed Maximum budgets to be set before hand.
- All of the work force is Local Labour including Apprentices & skilled trade’s persons.
- We run a good neighbour Scheme, hold Open days on every site which included an Open Forum for questions and answers.
- We carry out regeneration works to Community centres free of charge on each site.
- We have extended life cycles for re-decorating without effecting the integrity of the Guarantees and the Protection to the surfaces.
Our tenant satisfaction levels exceed WPH expectation year on year and we help bring 2000 units each year to the standards expected by from the Tenants of Wirral partnership Homes.
