Major Refurbishment brings out the best in Bisley The Officer’s Mess at the Bisley Ranges in Surrey is a beautiful wooden building dating from the late 1800’s.
When it was time for an overhaul, George Jones were selected to do the delicate task of replacing all the 70 windows with new wooden frames and double glazing, whilst keeping the character of the original. As Brian Johnson the site foreman commented: “It was an amazing job. Due to settlement of the building over the years, all the windows were different, and none were square!”
Measuring each of the units and manufacturing them to suit went very smoothly and the client is delighted to see the grand old building restored to its former glory

Tower of London trust us with the Crown Jewels! When it comes to redecorating the Crown Jewels, only the best will do!
With so many visitors each day, the rooms containing the Crown Jewel display need regular redecoration. This behind-the-scene work has to be done to the highest standard but with the minimum of disruption to the display. Working in conjunction with the Tower staff and facility managers Haymills, we have developed the technique of redecorating the jewel room with the minimum of disruption, whilst making it look as if we were never there! Needless to say, we have all the necessary security clearances to be allowed to do this prestigious task

George Jones redecorate the Queen's House! As the full time decorators on site we were asked to redecorate the Queens House, a magnificent Tudor building within the Tower of London. As one of the best known buildings in the country, the materials had to as close as possible to the original, and needless to say are very different to the paints used today!
Dulux were asked to manufacture a product especially for the project and we had special training to ensure they were applied exactly as the Elizabethan craftsmen would have done.
The area had to be cordoned off whilst we redecorated the property from a Mobile Elevated Work Platform, but this meant we had to get special dispensation to move the sentry box and alter the route taken by the ceremonial guard whilst the work was ongoing!

Major refurbishment of Belgravia Mansion There are some superb residences in London, and Seaford House in Belgravia is certainly one of the best .The floor of the main entrance, along with the handrails and columns in the main staircase are made from solid Onyx. Onyx is very hard to match, so Lord Seaford bought the quarry in South America whilst the house was being built to ensure he got exactly to materials he needed!.
We were asked to paint the ceiling, walls and frieze above the main stairwell. The question was how to erect the scaffolding without damaging the Onyx floor. A structural engineer was brought in and we built a complex bridge arrangement off the first floor landing and wrapped all the onyx on bubblewrap before rejuvenating the ornate ceiling and bringing the magnificent freize back to its 18th century glory!
