Position/Job Description for George JonesThe role
The post holder will be required to work as the key member of the business development and sales to secure new business nationwide, raise the company profile, and promote the business among existing and prospective clients. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, they will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and will be keen to learn and develop the company’s business.
Key responsibilities:
- Relationship management – establishing and developing relationships and commercial ventures with key clients and suppliers, at Senior Management and decision making levels within the customers organisation
- Produce and maintain an account development plan for each customer including creating and maintaining the customer hierarchy in line with value. Grow the business Key Account portfolio targeting 750k + pr year expenditure in our market
- Co-ordinate and complete pre- qualification submissions for new workload.
- Provide quarterly reporting in line with department KPI’s
- Undertake competitor analysis
- Manage and update the website
- Manage the production of external marketing material – corporate accounts, brochures, newsletters, meeting time, budget and quality targets.
- Target and produce industry award entries.
- Management of community initiatives, including liaising with clients, progressing ideas, and implementing plans.
- Contribute to the continual development of sales and marketing, capturing business opportunities, and identifying new markets.

Experience
- Experience of construction/ social housing sector
- Experience in a similar role
- Proven track record in bid writing
- Ideally someone educated to degree level, with experience since graduating.
- The role is likely to involve periods of working away from the office, and also outside of normal working hours.
- You may be expected to undertake short-term assignments, appropriate to ability to support the company, e.g. support other departments in times of heavy workload/ resource shortages
