The recent, successful IiP assessment of George Jones & Sons undertaken by myself as a nationally accredited external assessor identified that the company has several, very positive characteristics that are not commonly found in organisation of this size in their sector.

Firstly, the business has managed to maintain a culture found more commonly in smaller, family based businesses and this was considered by employees as an important reason they are with the company. Secondly, the management team are committed to delivering an excellent service to their customers and this clearly translates down to site staff. The Area Managers are well respected by their people and this has also helped maintain a loyal and more dependable team of employees. Thirdly, the company is growing and bringing in new people to help it commercially, but it was clear that the current positive culture will not be allowed to be diluted by new management and the Directors are committed to this.

In summary, the Directors and management of George Jones & Sons displayed during the assessment a clear client driven culture that is replicated at employee level, and a strong commitment to its people, their development, welfare and ongoing employment.
